Application Note:

Large 3.5" opening allows insulating tubing to be placed inside for isolation of tens thousands of volts and for large diameter conductor passing through the hole.   This CT will not pick up any stray magnet field due to its well-constructed shield design.  Due to capacitive coupling between the conductor passing through hole and the CT case, it is recommended to de-couple the UHF cable between the oscilloscope and the CT.

Application Note:

Battery powered handheld oscilloscope provides a safe way of acquitting the waveform with high electrical isolation.  The oscilloscope is placed inside the shield metal box to protect it from pulsed magnet field commonly found in Tesla Coil circuit.   The RS-232 communication is done over the fiber optic cable with converters on both ends such as SEL-2800M from Schweitzer Engineering Lab, Inc.  The software I wrote to capture the waveform over RS-232 can be downloaded here.
